My Color Story
There are a few things I’ve always been intensely interested in: beauty, aesthetics, creativity, health and mysticism. A couple of those passions led to a career in the fashion industry, eventually landing me in a senior executive role where I’ve often led large teams of wildly creative people. That last one, mysticism, started as a little kid when I believed I could find fairies living under the plants in our garden. I still think so. It must be all those Celtic bloodlines in my family.
It was at least 20 years ago when I came across an arresting photo of the Aura-Soma Equilibrium bottles in a magazine. They were visually stunning and looked like living jewels in their perfect crystal apothecary bottles. I kept that photo and vowed to track down those magical potions.
It took a couple of years, but I finally found an Aura-Soma practitioner and experienced my first color consultation. The colors I chose on that day revealed a whole new dimension of energetic healing to me, and I continued onward and inward, using and studying the Aura-Soma system for many years. As a side benefit it gave me a whole new perspective on color trends, filtered through an energetic angle. It’s not surprising that certain colors suddenly develop mainstream popularity or win “Pantone Color of the Year” right when society needs them.
In 2015 after completing the required in-depth training, I became an Aura-Soma Registered Practitioner, licensed to offer personal Color Consultations to others. Modern Potions was born! It is an honor and a privilege to see my clients light up as they resonate with their colors, use their bottles, and experience this unique journey.
